Co-Headliners Shinedown and Godsmack Show Peoria Why Rock Will Never Die

Hosted by 105.7 The X Rocks for their Fall Frenzy Concert, co-headliners, Shinedown and Godsmack, brought the fire to Peoria Civic Center. Red Sun Rising fueled fans by opening the show in their one-off opening performance.

With the drop of the curtain, Shinedown opens with crowd favorites “Sound of Madness” and “Diamond Eyes” both with full fire and pyro. Brent Smith, Shinedown frontman, always brings the fans to their feet with his seemingly neverending energy and charisma. Shinedown, as a whole is one big ball of energy with Barry Kerch banging on the drums, Eric Bass spinning and jumping on bass, and Zach Myers, guitar, always connecting with fans.

They also performed newer material from there recently released album ATTENTION ATTENTION! with current charting song “Get Up” and “Devil.” Moving to their smaller back stage and taking a more serious tone, Brent Smith encourages the crowd by letting them know they are all family and that no one is alone.

Entering the stage to cheering fans, Godsmack begins their set with “When Legends Rise,” the title song to their album released in April (2018). Sully Erna and his bandmates light up the stage with hard-hitting songs “1000hp” and “Keep Away.” Robbie Merrill, bass, and Tony Rombola, guitar, play off each other in a battle of the strings.

Shinedown and Godsmack keep rock music alive and well in Peoria!
