Red Wanting Blue Performs For Long Time Fans At The Castle Theatre

American Songwriter’s dubbed “Midwestern Rock Heroes,” Red Wanting Blue turned Bloomington, Illinois’s, The Castle Theatre into a rock party. Promoting their latest release, The Wanting, produced by Will Hoge.

Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, Red Wanting Blue, brought with it lifelong fans of the band who have toured the Midwest for over twenty years. For some fans, this was their fourth time seeing them and appreciated having their favorite rock band right here in Bloomington.

Fans were eager for the band to take the stage, dancing and singing along to “High and Dry,” “Ulysees,” and definitive favorite “Younger Years.”

Leadman, Scott Terry’s husky sonorous voice leads you somewhere between rock, southern rock, heartland, and Americana. His intensity and emotion for the songs shine through in his expressive performance. Terry connects with his fans mentioning his love for those longtime fans who have supported them for years while touring around the Midwest. The band’s cohesion is a critical element to their longevity through eleven albums and is evident in their live performance.

The spirited energy was palpable during the show, and fans were wanting more as they ended their set with “Vegas,” “Finger In the Air,” and “Alibi.”

This being my first time seeing Red Wanting Blue perform, they definitely have a new fan. I understand why their fans enjoy seeing them multiple times in one year. It’s an experience I won’t soon forget and hope they return to the Bloomington area.
